aka: The Story of the Fox
Film Synopsis
In the kingdom of the animals, the Fox has a reputation for playing
practical jokes on everyone. After receiving numerous complaints,
the Lion has the Fox arrested and intends to hang him. In his
audience with the Lion, the Fox earns his freedom by telling him about
a fabulous treasure. Once the deception is exposed, the King
orders the Fox's castle at Malpertuis to be taken from him. Once
again, the Fox manages to save himself. Impressed by the Fox's
cunning, the Lion appoints him his minister.
Since the 1920s, Hollywood has dominated the film industry, but that doesn't mean American cinema is all bad - America has produced so many great films that you could never watch them all in one lifetime.
With so many great films to choose from, it's nigh on impossible to compile a short-list of the best 15 French films of all time - but here's our feeble attempt to do just that.
In his letters to his friends and family, Franz Kafka gives us a rich self-portrait that is surprisingly upbeat, nor the angst-ridden soul we might expect.
