Film Synopsis
Paris, May 1962. The war in Algeria has just concluded with the
signing of the Evian accord. In this first month of peace for
seven years, independent filmmaker Chris Marker asks what the Parisians
think. Ordinary men and women, from all walks of life, are
invited to express their hopes and fears, their anxieties and
disappointments. Gradually, a startlingly vivid portrait of
France at the start of the 1960s begins to emerge...
