La Vallée des larmes (2012)
Directed by Maryanne Zéhil

Drama
aka: The Valley of Tears

Film Synopsis

Marie Simard, a publisher based in Montreal, is the recipient of a strange collection of letters which describe, in graphic detail, a series of atrocities being committed in Palestinian camps in Lebanon.  Most horrific are first-hand accounts of several massacres.  Marie is deeply shocked and disturbed by what she reads and feels impelled to meet the person who sent the letters to her before she goes ahead and publishes them.  Unfortunately, Marie's mysterious correspondent, a man named Joseph, has apparently gone missing, and this makes her more determined than ever to see for herself what conditions are like in Lebanon.  Without delay, she leaves her safe, cosy world in Quebec behind her and sets off for the Middle East, for what will be a life-changing voyage of discovery...
