Film Synopsis

In 1859, Joseph Extrassiaz leaves his small village of Tarentaise in Savoy so that he can sell cotton and lace in the streets of Italy, where he buys an accordion.  On his return to Savoy, the French customers officers ask him to pay a fine for trying to smuggle an Italian musical instrument into their country, since Savoy is now, apparently, part of France...
