La Sociologue et l'ourson (2016)
Directed by Etienne Chaillou, Mathias Théry

Documentary

Film Synopsis

Between September 2012 and May 2013, France is divided by the introduction of a new law that offers the possibility of a legal marriage to a wider stratum of society than heterosexual couples.  Known as 'Mariage pour tous' the new law is seen as a long overdue piece of legislation for some, a recognition of traditional French values; but others regard it as a threat to the sacred institution of marriage as it was originally conceived.  In her film, Mathias Théry replays the debate that has polarised opinion in France and brought into question the role of marriage and family in present day society...
