Film Synopsis

In the 14th century BC, Egypt basks in the reflected glory of the mighty pharaoh Akhenaten.  The latter is too preoccupied with his grand projects and attempts to popularise monotheism to take much of an interest in his third daughter Akhesa, a 14-year-old tearaway.  The latter is like any other girl of her age, fed up with being stuck in the royal palace all day when she knows she should be out enjoying herself.  Her overriding ambition is to discover what became of her mother, the famous sun queen Nefertiti, who is thought to have been sent into exile on the remote island of Elephantine.  Fortunately, the handsome prince she is betrothed to, Tut, shares her spirit of adventure, so together they slip away from the palace and set out to get themselves a good time.

In a totally insane journey that takes them from the wild banks of the Nile to the scorching desert, Akhesa and her companion face no end of perils, enough to fill a tomb with papyruses.  Among the perils this enterprising duo face none are as treacherous and deadly as the evil mercenary Zannanza, who is plotting with the priests of Amun-Ra to overthrow the pharaoh!  Akhesa and Tut are up against the most powerful of adversaries, and the only weapons they have in their armoury are their innocence, guile and determination.  What would the ancient world do without people like this?
