Film Synopsis

Jean-Gabriel may not be the richest of men but he has everything he needs to be a happy.  He gets by on his modest wage, doing any odd job that comes his way, and leads a contented life with his wife Suzy and their three children in one of the less desirable districts of Paris.  Jean-Gabriel spends most of his life in a dream world, making plans that have no chance of ever seeing the light of day.  One evening, he promises his entire family that they will go on a skiing holiday this year.  Naturally, his children are delighted by this announcement, but Suzy isn't taken in for a minute.

This is just the kind of thing that the long-suffering wife has had to get used to - Jean-Gabriel making empty promises that he has no intention of keeping.  This time, however, she intends that her husband will honour his pledge.  If he doesn't, that will be the end of their marriage.  Now Jean-Gabriel has no choice but to turn his promise into a concrete plan - not an easy feat when you haven't a penny to your name.  He will need to stretch his resources to the limit if he is to avoid a fiasco and a divorce, but one thing he hasn't allowed for is having to take his mother on holiday with him.  It promises to be some adventure - if Jean-Gabriel can ever get it off the ground...
