Two actors - Jean-Pierre Léaud and Zouzou - are locked up in an apartment which is divided into two areas. Each of these zones is a torture chamber; one is termed the hot room, the other the cold room. Between these two rooms is a bed surrounded by a camera rail, from which we see Zouzou stretched out on the bed, as Léaud attempts to slit her wrists with a piece of film...
