Bored with provincial life, Raymonde says goodbye to her parents and her boyfriend François and sets out to start a new life in Paris.  Here, she meets William, a petty crook who soon steals her heart.  Not long after she has married William, Raymonde soon begins to regret the choices she has made, but it is too late to change things...
