De sas en sas (2017)
Directed by Rachida Brakni

Drama

Film Synopsis

During a fierce heat wave in the summer of 2013, Nora sets out to visit her brother, an inmate at Fleury-Mérogis prison.  Accompanied by her mother, she finds herself in an oppressive and unfamiliar environment on entering the prison premises.  Around them are many other women, who have no doubt come to visit their husbands and offer them a few strained words of comfort.  These 'prison widows' seem to have grown accustomed to the life-sapping routine.  Meanwhile, the prison staff look on dispassionately, adhering to the rules as if they were made of metal, not flesh and blood.  One of the visitors is so worn down that she can no longer face the ordeal of the visiting room, even if it means her husband can no longer see his daughter...
