Film Synopsis
A man has a wife and a mistress. He also has a maid, and it his with the latter's complicity that he steals from his wife so that he can raise the money to buy presents for his mistress. He explains his frequent absences away from home by telling his wife he was at his club. Belonging to a club is essential for a man with a wife and a mistress. Unfortunately, the wife's credulity has its limits and one day she decides to follow her husband to his supposed club. As she suspected, the cheating husband ends up at a restaurant, where he greets his mistress with a warmth and affection that he has never offered his wife. All she ever gets is the odd evening playing Scrabble in funereal silence...© James Travers
