Film Synopsis

In the 1960s, Bill Willis, a successful American writer, lives in Paris with his wife Marcella and six-year-old daughter Channe.  After a series of miscarriages, the couple decide to adopt Benoît, a little French boy of the same age as their daughter.  Once he has settled into his new home, Benoît changes his name to Billy.  Channe is at first jealous of the attention her new sibling is receiving but she soon warms to him and they become the best of friends.  Now a teenager, Channe has developed a close friendship with a boy named Francis.  The family routine is disrupted when Bill announces he must return to America for a heart operation...
