Pola Negri was a Polish actress whose birth name was Apolonia Chalupiec. She was born in Lipno, Congress Poland, Russian Empire on 3rd January 1894 and died in San Antonio, Texas, USA on 1st August 1987, aged 93.

Her best films as an actor include Ernst Lubitsch's Madame Du Barry (1919), Die Bergkatze (1921), Dimitri Buchowetzki's Sappho (1921), Malcolm St. Clair's A Woman of the World (1925) and Paul Czinner's The Way of Lost Souls (1929).
