Michelangelo Antonioni was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He was born in Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy on 29th September 1912 and died in Rome, Lazio, Italy on 30th July 2007, aged 94.

His best films as a screenwriter include La Signora senza camelie (1953), L'Avventura (1960), L'Eclisse (1962) and Blowup (1966), and whose best work as a film director include L'Avventura (1960), L'Eclisse (1962), Il deserto rosso (1964) and Professione: reporter (1975).
