James Stewart was an American actor. He was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA on 20th May 1908 and died in Beverly Hills, California, USA on 2nd July 1997, aged 89.

His best films as an actor include Frank Capra's Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), Robert Z. Leonard's Ziegfeld Girl (1941), It's a Wonderful Life (1946), Henry Hathaway's crime-thriller Call Northside 777 (1948) and Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window (1954), and whose best work as a musician include D.C. Osman's thriller Consumption (2010) and Hanneke Schutte's comedy Jimmy in Pink (2013).
