Jack Hawkins was an American actor and producer whose birth name was John Edward Hawkins. He was born in Wood Green, London, England, UK on 14th September 1910 and died in London, England on 18th July 1973, aged 62.

His best films as an actor include Michael Powell's thriller The Small Back Room (1949), Charles Frend's The Cruel Sea (1953), David Lean's The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957), William Wyler's Ben-Hur (1959) and Lawrence of Arabia (1962).
