Harold Lloyd was an American actor and producer whose birth name was Harold Clayton Lloyd. He was born in Burchard, Nebraska, USA on 20th April 1893 and died in Beverly Hills, California, USA on 8th March 1971, aged 77.

His best films as an actor include Fred C. Newmeyer's comedy Grandma's Boy (1922), Safety Last! (1923), The Freshman (1925), Ted Wilde's The Kid Brother (1927) and Speedy (1928), and whose best work as a film director include The Kid Brother (1927), The Cat's-Paw (1934) and World of Comedy (1962).
