Summary
Alice, a young trainee employee on a celebrity magazine, is moved by
the plight of her neighbour, Victor. The charming old man hasn’t
a friend in the world and is about to be evicted from his rooms.
Alice comes to his rescue by organising a competition in her magazine:
the winner will have the privilege of adopting Victor for life.
The idea proves to be a great success and the Saillard family are the
lucky winners of the friendless 80-year-old. Unfortunately, what
begins as a good-humoured gesture soon degenerates into acrimony as
Victor’s failings become apparent...
