Summary
Paris, 1817.  When confronted with a cast of the body of Saartjie Baartman, Georges Cuvier, a specialist in anatomy at the Royal Academy of Medicine, remarks that he has never seen a human head so similar to that of an ape.  Seven years previously, Saartjie left South Africa with her master Caezar and became one of London’s most notorious freak show exhibits...
