Summary
The life of Pauline, the favourite sister of Napoléon Bonaparte,
is one of sacrifice and thwarted romance. Her first engagement
was broken by her brother for political reasons. Then, whilst
travelling in Italy, she meets and falls in love with her idéal, Jules de
Canouville. Again, the match is not to Napoléon’s liking
and she is coerced into marrying one of his generals,
Leclerc...
