Summary
A plane loaded with weapons explodes above the Gulf of Guinea.  An escort girl is murdered in a Parisian car park.  Thousands of miles may separate these two events but could they be in some way connected?   Nora Chayd, a police inspector with a reputation for strong arm tactics, is charged with investigating the Paris murder but she soon comes into conflict with her superiors.  Meanwhile, Victor Bornand, a government offial, is busy trying to dampen the political crisis caused by the explosion.  As Nora’s investigation brings her ever closer to the higher echelons of power, a series of murders and betrayals conspire to thwart her and prevent the truth from being known.  This is, after all, an affaire of the State...
