Summary
Hungary in the 17th Century.  After the death of her husband, Countess Elizabeth Bathory finds herself in possession of a vast estate and an incredible fortune.  With the support of her closest confidante, the witch Anna Darvulia, Elizabeth’s sphere of influence grows until she becomes the most powerful woman in her country, admired by some, feared by others.  One day, she meets a handsome young man and falls hopelessly in love.  But the romance does not last.  He is too young, she is too old.  Driven insane by her lover’s rejection, Elizabeth becomes convinced that she can recover her youth and beauty by bathing in the blood of young virgins...
