Summary
One morning, Lulu and Nini arrive at a film studio to take part in a
publicity film ordered by Monsieur Tiermond. The two women are
surprised to find they are part of a vast menagerie that includes
actors, singers, clowns and dancers. In this throng of
humanity, Lula recognises a man who, many years ago, was madly in love
with her. No one knows that Tiermond is making the film for his
own amusement, as he knows he is soon to die from cancer. The
director’s attempts to complete the film within a day are frustrated by
Tiermond’s continual interventions, which cause the filming to progress
at a snail’s pace. Exhausted by the end of the day, the cast and
crew decide to rebel and refuse to cooperate unless they are paid
overtime...
