Parisette (1921)

Parisette is a French film comedy-drama first released in 1921, directed by Louis Feuillade.  The film stars Sandra Milovanoff, Georges Biscot, Fernand Herrmann, Édouard Mathé and René Clair.  Our overall rating for this film is: good.


Manöela, the granddaughter of the ruined Marquis de Costabella, enters a convent to atone for the crimes of which her grandfather is accused, but she dies during the taking of the veil ceremony.  In Paris, the Marquis meets a young dancer, Parisette, who is the living image of Manöela.  Parisette is the niece of Cogolin, who works as a cashier in the a bank owned by Parisette’s amorous admirer, Stéfan.   It transpires that when she was young, Stéfan’s wife had a secret love child...
