Synopsis
Manöela, the granddaughter of the ruined Marquis de Costabella, enters a convent
to atone for the crimes of which her grandfather is accused, but she dies during the taking
of the veil ceremony. In Paris, the Marquis meets a young dancer, Parisette, who
is the living image of Manöela. Parisette is the niece of Cogolin, who works
as a cashier in the a bank owned by Parisette’s amorous admirer, Stéfan.
It transpires that when she was young, Stéfan’s wife had a secret love child...
