Summary
On the death of his uncle, Valentin declares that he will drink
incessantly for six months. Those around him judge this behaviour
immoral and so he is expelled from his apartment. That same
night, still drunk, Valentin returns to his apartment, by force of habit, and is surprised
to find a strange woman in his bed. The woman’s husband then
turns up and draws the obvious conclusion...
