Synopsis
Thirty years ago, Ancelin was a famous doctor, but now he is an alcoholic who tries to forget his wasted life.  One night, as usual, his mistress Madeleine finds him totally drunk in a cheap cafe.  Despite his condition, Ancelin decides to drive home in his car, but at a crossroads he has a terrible accident and kills a motorcyclist.  When he comes to his senses, Ancelin manages to make the killing look like an accident.  The police and a journalist are convinced that the man killed himself by accident because the motorcycle was stolen and he was driving without lights.  This outcome is a revelation for Ancelin, who sees how he might get away with a deadly revenge...
