Synopsis
6-year old orphan girl Lucette lives with her elderly grandfather, Pascalon, a violist
who cannot find work. Impressed by Lucette’s promise as a dancer, a wealthy American
couple offer to adopt her, but her grandfather refuses. Taking pity on the old man
and his young charge, the American couple give them a thousand dollar note, but this leads
only to further tragedy...
