Summary
Christine has spent most of her life in a wheelchair.  To find temporary escape from her solitary existence she decides to undertake a pilgrimage to Lourdes.  Here, the miracle she hardly dared to hope for occurs.  She awakes one morning to find that she can now walk.  This miraculous recovery naturally arouses the interest of the man leading the pilgrimage.  As her entourage succumb to admiration and jealousy, Christine tries to take advantage of her remarkable good fortune...
