Summary
Russia, 1913.  A widower raises his daughter and keeps her in ignorance of the fact that he works as a maître d'hôtel in a restaurant.  The young woman meets a banker who has amorous designs on her and takes her to the restaurant where her father works.  The banker is known to the girl’s father and he wastes no time chasing him away.  The girl manages to console herself with the love of her piano teacher.
