Les Grandes personnes (1961)

Les Grandes personnes is a French-Italian film first released in 1961, directed by Jean Valère.  The film stars Jean Seberg, Maurice Ronet, Micheline Presle, Annibale Ninchi and Françoise Prévost.  It has also been released under the title: Time Out for Love.  Our overall rating for this film is: good.


When she is abandoned by her lover Philippe, Michèle, a Parisian fashion designer, tries to kill herself.  She is saved by her doctor and Ann, a young American nurse.   Michèle’s best friend Gladys is not pleased when Ann takes up residence in Michèle’s apartment to keep an eye on her patient.  Ann’s presence proves to be a consolation when Michèle learns that Gladys is Philippe’s latest mistress.  One day, Michèle accepts Gladys’s invitation to a party, even though she knows that Philippe will be there.  At first, Ann ignores Philippe, aware of what he did to Michèle, but later that evening Michèle and Gladys notice that Ann is beginning to succumb to Philippe’s irresistible charms...
