Summary
The Marquis de Maubrun is an aristocrat who is proud of his family
traditions. A widower, he lives with his six children in his
large family home, a relic of a time long past. The Marquis finds
it hard to move with the times and cannot comprehend the behaviour of
his children. He finds himself in opposition to his daughter
Daisy, who is in love with a parvenu; his eldest son, Arthur, is a
workaholic business man; the youngest son, Pierre, is a wayward
student. One day, the father receives a visit from a solicitor,
sent by his children to arrange their inheritance...
