Overview

Synopsis
Every year, Madame Husson regards the young women of her village and
awards a prize of 100,000 francs to the one whom she deems to be
exceptionally virtuous. This year, however, no young woman is
deserving of the prize. Instead, the generous benefactor decides
to give the award to the simpleton Isidore. Unfortunately, this
young man is not to remain a model of innocence and virtue for
long. During a banquet, Isidore has one glass of champagne
too many and his reputation vanishes with his sobriety...
