Summary
During the Algerian War, Lieutenant Roque is stationed in a village in
eastern Algeria. Weary of the conflict, he finds it hard to
fulfil his duties. He is situated between a local population that
is subjected to endless repression and torture and soldiers whose
morale he is supposed to keep up. His relationship with
Taïeb, a young soldier of north African origin, exacerbates the
contradictions and absurdities of this war without a name.
