Summary
Michel and Vincent have been friends since childhood but they have diametrically opposed views when it comes to romance.  Whereas Michel believes in true love, the kind that arrives by chance and strikes like a thunderbolt, Vincent is firmly of the opinion that a man’s brain is merely an extension of his penis.  The two men are about to discover that their assumptions about love and women are equally wide of the mark...
Review
L'Amour, c'est mieux a deux photo
The only surprising thing about this clumsy, cliché saturated attempt at a rom-com is how it ever managed to be such a big hit.  The mere fact that L’Amour, c’est mieux à deux attracted an audience of over one million in France is a worrying indication of the extent to which mainstream French cinema has become Americanised.  With its excruciatingly shallow characterisation, oh-so predictable storyline and jokes that range from the painfully banal to the tediously vulgar, this latest misguided imitation of the kind of crass romantic comedy that is currently packing them in across the pond bodes ill for the future.  Junk food and junk cinema - that’s where French culture is heading folks.
