Summary
Stef Tassel has just escaped from the prison at Markstein.  Hotly pursued by the police, Tassel coerces a young woman into driving him to safety in her car.  What he doesn’t know is that the woman is Paula Cavalier, the daughter of the President, who is in the midst of an election campaign.  When he sees Tassel and Paula together, President Cavalier’s political rival, Counsellor Grim, sees at once how much capital he can make from the present crisis.  As they are hunted by the police, Grim and Cavalier, Tassel and Paula begin to develop feelings for one another.  In a bid to save Tassel by driving him across the border, Paula puts herself outside the law, jeopardising not only her own future but also her father’s political career....
