L’Acrobate (1941)

L’Acrobate is a French film comedy first released in 1941, directed by Jean Boyer.  The film stars Fernandel, Thérèse Dorny, Jean Tissier, Gaby Wagner and Charles Dechamps.  It has also been released under the title: The Acrobat.  Our overall rating for this film is: mediocre.


Ernest Sauce is the maître d’ of the up-market restaurant Cochon d’argent.  Bored with his mistress and fed up of constantly having to lend money to his boss, Ernest decides to make a clean break.  Pretending to have lost his memory, he allows himself to be interned in an asylum.  Here, he invents for himself a new identity, that of an acrobat...
