Overview
L’Accompagnatrice is a French war film first released in 1992,
directed by Claude Miller.
The film is based on a novel by Nina Berberova and stars Richard Bohringer, Yelena Safonova, Romane Bohringer, Samuel Labarthe and Julien Rassam.
It has also been released under the title: The Accompanist.

Synopsis
During the Nazi Occupation of France, Sophie Vasseur, a young pianist
of humble origins, accompanies the great concert singer Irène
Brice. Sophie is both fascinated and revolted by the world in
which Irène lives, one in which privilege and patronage can be
bought merely by aligning one’s sympathies with the Germans.
Irène’s husband Charles is a Nazi collaborator who, during
a recital at Vichy, arranges a tour for his wife in London. It is
here that Sophie’s loyalties and resolve are tested to breaking point...
