Summary
Professor Schneider, his son and a young palaeontologist arrive in the Lötschental valley, Switzerland, to pursue a scientific study which could radically alter our view of human evolution.  By chance, they run into a family of tourists who have come to the area to attend a carnival.  Neither party can have any idea of the nightmarish ordeal that lies ahead, and they will be lucky to survive.  But who is their mysterious enemy?  Is it possible that we are not the only humans on Earth?
