Synopsis
A film that presents two alternative ways of dairy farming in
Brittany. On the one hand, there are the independent farmers who
adhere to the traditions of farming go back generations, smallholders
who feed their cattle exclusively on grass and avoid artificial means
to boost productivity. Then there are the farmers who work as
part of an industrial-sized operation,
supplementing their cattle feed with maize and soya
to reduce overheads and increase profits. In an increasingly
competitive world where productivity
at the expense of ecological impact is becoming less acceptable, it may
well be that the traditional farmers will ultimately have the upper
hand...
