“I must’ve been about ten.  Kirk Douglas volunteered to adopt me and take me back to Hollywood.  He met me when he was filming in Israel.  My parents objected even though we were poor.  I met Kirk about nine years later in Rome.  We were making Two Weeks In Another Town.  He didn’t recognise me.”
