Summary
Unemployed, Gobert is unable to repay the 40 credits he has subscribed
for. On the estate where he lives, the bailiffs rule the
roost. Gobert decides to fight back by organising a system
of credit that is both original and popular. So ingenious is
Gobert’s scheme that it attracts the interest of the highest government
departments...
