Comptes à rebours (1971) - film review

Have served a ten year stretch in jail for a bank robbery that went wrong, François Nolan returns to his old neighbourhood, intent on revenge.  His former partners in crime, Jebel, Zampa, Gi and Ferrier, all lead respectable and comfortable lives now, but one of them was responsible for François’s arrest and the death of his brother during the robbery.  If none of his associates fingers the culprit, François swears he will murder them, one by one.  François is not the only one out for revenge, however.  Valberg, the bank’s insurance inspector, lost an eye in the shoot out between the police and François and is ready to settle his score...
