Beau rivage (2012) - film review

Michel Matarasso is a cop, based in Nice, who no longer has any enthusiasm for work, or indeed for life in general.  He finally manages to get himself relieved from his professional duties and he appears content to spend the time that is left to him by ruminating in gloomy solitude.  It is just when he least expects it that a woman enters his life and shatters his newfound calm.  She is Sandra Bandini, a suicide case.  Consumed by a morbid fascination for the dead woman, Michel experiences a sudden new lease of life...
