Summary

While their parents are away enjoying a holiday in Ireland, four children, aged between five and thirteen years, are placed in the care of a Spanish governess. The children’s ambivalence for the authoritarian governess turns to outright hatred when she sends them to bed early so that she can entertain a boyfriend. The youngsters take their revenge by drowning the governess and are certain that their crime will not be uncovered. But then a stranger starts to make regular visits to the house. Unbeknown to the children, he witnessed the murder...
