Biography: life and films

Abstract picture representing Beatrice Dalle
Béatrice Dalle is a French film actress. She was born in Brest, France on 19 December 1964. It was in the role of Betty in Jean-Jacques Beineix's 37°2 le matin (1985), that Béatrice Dalle was first revealed to the world, an actress of rare sensuality and sizzling carnality. She was natural auteur material and many distinguished filmmakers have been eager to make use of her unique talents, including Jacques Doillon (La Vengeance d'une femme), Diane Kurys (À la folie ), Claire Denis (Trouble Every Day) and Olivier Assayas (Clean). A stranger to commercial cinema, Dalle is at her best in idiosyncratic auteur films, such as Virginie Despentes's Bye bye Blondie, in which she played Emmanuelle Béart's lesbian lover.
